So we have to fool the printer into thinking that the toner is good (which it is). The first step in doing this is to hold the post-it note on a piece of tape. Fold the post-it note into a small square and place it over the opening in the toner cartridge. This is what the printer uses to check the toner level.

At first, I covered the space with a piece of tape and made it black. Although that was temporary, the software soon returned to an empty toner cartridge and prevented me from printing.

Next, you need to put the toner cartridge back into the printer, being careful to make sure the post-it + tape stays in place.

When you put it back in the printer, you should be able to turn it on and make sure that the Toner light is off. The software will let you print regardless of how much toner is left.
