The goal of the project was to excel in helping customers achieve their goals through a personalized, simple and convenient personal lending experience that supports the user’s needs (trust, control, transparency and human touch) while navigating the complexities of the borrowing process.
During the research phase (8 weeks), data from previous lending projects (credit cards, home loans) were taken into account and some of the design interactions (font, tone of voice, continuous leadership) were adopted. We also held regular workshops that helped shape the problem space (client and company), generate hypotheses and share ideas for solutions.
The delivery phase involved 3 scrum teams working simultaneously in different streams with multiple dependencies. This gave me the opportunity to progress as a UX designer (I initially joined the team as UI) and was responsible for creating user flows, prototyping, hypothesis testing and stakeholder management.
After launch (January 2017), the performance of online personal loan applications significantly exceeded the initial business scenario target (25% increase), delivering significant business results across all key metrics and proving that a strong customer-centric design can effectively benefits business.
